He visited Baron’s Cove frequently throughout the late 50’s and early 60’s, often visiting with his wife Elaine. The couple named the bar among their favorite spots in the village. To this day, we still make Steinbeck's favorite cocktail, the “Jack Rose.” History is part of our DNA, and in honor of John Steinbeck and our 65th anniversary, we want to offer you the chance to go back in time with us.

Join us Memorial Day or Labor Day weekends for a chance to visit John Steinbeck’s home, originally bought by the writer in 1955, which is now a literary retreat.
