The Brown Room

Head to the Brown Room at Congress Hall for a set by Rachel Burghen, presented by Singer Songwriter Cape May.

Rachel grew up in Buena, New Jersey, about halfway between Philadelphia and the Jersey shore. She started singing at nursing homes and senior centers when she was 5 years old, where her grandmother would bring her, and quickly fell in love with music and discovered how powerful and healing it could be.  After she graduated high school she started working  professionally and as a volunteer locally and in the Philadelphia/Delaware area at weddings, restaurants, senior centers, concerts, regional and community theater.

Rachel is a classically trained lyric soprano. She studied musical theater at The Rowan College of South Jersey and in Philadelphia at the Media Theater and The Walnut Street Theater.

Rachel recently released her first single "Waiting to Fly on August 5, 2024.
