Blend of acoustic pop, rock, blues, funk and reggae. Lawrence Cooley is a Singer/Songwriter and recording artist born in Tarrytown, NY and based in New York City and the Hamptons.  A multifaceted performer, Lawrence has shared bills with Gavin Degraw, Donovan Frankenreiter and Jay Black including those having performed at Woodstock ’94 to name a few.  His songs expertly navigate smooth, soulful and gritty melodys, reminiscent of Bill Withers, Dave Mathews, John Mayer and Jack Johnson. Lawrence's unique style of percussive acoustic playing includes laying down a groove by drumming on his guitar while recording it through a loop station. Then he will overlay a bass line, then a rhythm part, until you hear a distinct full band sound. He has the natural ability to play a myriad of acoustic styles seamlessly, from funk to pop, to blues, to reggae, without blinking an eye.
