If you’re a returning guest of The Virginia (or a seasoned Ebbitt Room patron), you may be familiar with the hotel’s beautiful back garden patio. Featuring a sweeping center umbrella that shields from the sun, lush florals intertwine with ivy and stone to create a secluded space that feels hidden amongst Cape May’s Victoriana. It’s an open secret—and it’s waiting for your discovery.
This year, we’d like to invite you to take your seat in this special space—and to consider it as the perfect addition to your summer post-beach ritual. Starting May 30, every other Thursday through September will see our garden space transform into an afternoon oasis. The menu will be light and casual, focusing on wines, proseccos, and local oysters from our partners at Sweet Amalia and Cape May Salts. The vibe will be relaxed, inviting you to stay and linger a little longer.

Kenneth Richardson
An alumnus of New York’s famed High School of the Performing Arts, Ken Richardson studied at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. He has worked and/or toured with esteemed company like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Dionne Warwick, Kenny Rogers, Keith Sweat, Babyface, Gerald Levert, Eddie Levert, GQ, Queen Latifah, Natalie Cole, Bruno Mars, and Stevie Wonder.
Ken has been inspired by various styles of music and can play them all. You can count on hearing songs by Billy Joel and Elton John, Elvis, James Taylor, as well as The Eagles, Sinatra, and the best of Motown.
